about

Listen to what happens when members of Watussi, King Tide and Melbourne Ska Orchestra come together to create new music? These musicians bring their mix of cultures, meeting on common ground with their love of reggae and a firm belief in social justice.

Michael Brown, Saxophonist with popular Latin rockers Watussi, has recruited members from high profile Aussie roots outfits King Tide, and the Melbourne Ska Orchestra for his reggae side Project, The Protesters Songs are a vehicle to espouse a strong commitment to social and environmental justice. Brown’s trenchant commentary is offset by smooth and soulful old school reggae riddims, fuelled by classy arrangements featuring a full complement of horns. Pat Powell, singer with the MSO, delivers the messages with urbanity.

This twelve-track record of original songs blends soulful vocal melodies with vintage reggae grooves and will get you rocking and thinking about what's happening in the world today.
